I think they reached into the NE too fast.
It's like a game of Risk. I would have added VT, Miami, WVU first. WVU actually had a decent rivalry going w/ Maryland.
It would have further solidified the league from Baltimore to Miami.
THEN you go to Pitt and Rutgers. You would have expanded into Pennsylvania and New Jersey with a real presence in both.
There's actually a VERY strong Pennsylvania and Jersey presence at half a dozen ACC schools too. Also, there's no way Maryland leaves under such a scenario. No way the B1G dissects such a league. True regional rivalries would abound.
I just don't think Cuse or BC truly add NYC or Boston. Too much other stuff going on in both for the ACC to ever be anything but page 5 material. Let the B1G be stuck recruiting up there.
